Extraordinary how potent old school glamour is! This poster image for the upcoming revival of Noel Coward’s Private Lives shows off the glowing allure of its stars: Kim Cattrall of Sex and the City fame and Paul Gross. (We’re spinning off the oft-quoted line in the quiptastic show: “Extraordinary how potent cheap music is.”) The revival is about to start rehearsals in preparation for its first performance on November 6 at the Music Box Theatre. The production, directed by Richard Eyre, will open on November 17 and play a limited engagement through February 5, 2012. The constantly revived play (it has been produced seven times on Broadway since its 1931 premiere!) centers on the enthralling, rich and reckless Amanda (Cattrall) and her ex-husband Elyot (Gross). Honeymooning in the south of France with their new spouses, the two meet again across adjoining hotel balconies, rekindling their feelings for each other. We can’t wait to rekindle our own love for this classic comedy this fall.
